Some (probably unpopular) business choices Iāve made as a photographer, but following my heart is important:
āØI no longer post sneak peeks before the full gallery is delivered. I want my clients to be the first to experience their photos, not scrolling past them on social media.
āØClient privacy matters more to me than marketing. I wonāt guilt-trip anyone or tack on an extra fee just because they want their photos private. Their comfort matters more to me than perfecting my feed for the algorithm.
āØI deliver all the edited images from a session. Some say this means leaving money on the table, and sure, maybe thatās true. But for me, it just doesnāt sit right to limit my clients! Having to narrow down favorites sounds overwhelming, and I hate the thought of letting great photos go unseen.
⨠I have a very flexible rescheduling policy. Life is unpredictable. Kids get sick, work runs late, emergencies happen, and weather in SC is sometimes the worst. I do my best to offer flexibility when people need to move their session; within reason, of course. I want to be understanding, not rigid.
⨠I wonāt constantly be running specials or marketing sessions. My pricing is set to be affordable for everyone, and I believe those who want to book a session will when the time is right for them.
⨠I love supporting other photographers and will always give recommendations if Iām not available or it just isnāt a right fit! Competition has no place in my business.
After 3 years in this industry, Iāve learned that the client experience is more valuable than any sort of internet fame. Itās me & my camera working for YOU!
āØAnna, with love always!
