One of my favorite times of the year to photograph is winter in Yellowstone National Park. This is because you get many opportunities to capture images of animals surrounded by snow making the backgrounds very simple. In this image I have captured a red fox walking directly towards me. It looks like he is very close to me, but that is because I have a long lens.

This is an image of a Brown Vine Snake taken back in 2023 during a trip with Jim Stevens to Costa Rica. There is no way we would have found this snake without a very talented local guide. It was hidden in the brush and blended in almost perfectly with the branches and vines around it. It extended out about two feet and actually swayed with the breeze which helped it to blend in. They can reach up to 6 feet long and they are considered to be mildly venomous and not dangerous to humans.
