The OM-5 Mark II from OM SYSTEM is a hugely versatile camera. Allowing you to capture both vast landscapes and fast moving wildlife. I was fortunate to be able to test out this camera for about two months over the summer and here are some of the photos of local birds I was able to capture with the camera using a variety of OM SYSTEM lenses. Thank you omsystem.americas for the opportunity to test out this amazing little camera!

Before the Nor’Easter blew through I spent an afternoon down along the CT coastline to see what I could find. Among the rocks and small beach I found a few of these Semipalmated Plovers foraging among the rocks. I found a good spot to set up and waited for them to approach. After a short time I managed to get these few shots!

Shot on the Nikon Zf and 400mm f/4.5

I had a cancelation on my sunset grassland bird photography experience. That means there’s one spot open for someone to come join me and a small group of photographers to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the grasslands. Come learn how I photograph this habitat, how I position myself to take advantage of the amazing light, and learn about all the species that call this area home.

If you’re more of a beginner, that’s perfectly fine too. I have a walk designed for beginners as well. This walk is designed to fast track your learning to help you. Reset the wildlife image you’re dreaming about!

Last weekend’s Coastal Bird Photography Experience was a great success. The weather was beautiful and after a few hours we managed to see 19 bird species including killdeer, northern mockingbirds, greater yellowlegs, egrets, dozens of tree swallows, a pair of coopers hawks hunting flocks of European starlings, and an assortment of sandpipers.

I have two coastal walks planned for September, one a sunset walk and the other being a morning experience.

These walks are designed to not only teach you what subjects we see, but what subjects are likely to be there and why, and how to use that information to your advantage when photographing the birds in these habitats.

Over the past eight weeks, the OM SYSTEM OM-5 Mark II has been my companion through wetlands, forests, grasslands, and quiet mornings along the water. More than anything, it has been a reminder to slow down, pay attention, and appreciate the moments that nature offers to those willing to wait.

These are just a few of the memories made along the way. Thank you, .cameras, for the opportunity to spend time with the OM-5 Mark II and experience what it can do in the environments I love photographing most.

What has always drawn me to wildlife photography isn’t simply creating images—it’s the experience of being there. I hope this reel brings you along for a small part of that journey.

My Coastal Bird Walk is available for booking now on my website! This walk is intentionally limited to 3 participants and timed for low tide so we will have the best opportunity to observe and photograph the variety of birds that can be found in this area.

August is a great time to find migrating shorebirds, that have finished breeding far up north in Canada, and are headed south along the Atlantic flyway.
