I've been wanting to post an update for a few days now, but its time consuming selecting photos and I didnt want to waste an hour that I could be editing making this post. So after I finished for the night, (at 10pm) I skimmed through and quickly selected some photos to share of galleries ive finished. I wanted to let everyone know where im at with editing. I JUST started the morning of 10/19. It was a FULL day so its going to take me a bit to get through them, but I'm editing non stop and averaging about 500 photos a day. Yesterday that was only 1 1/2 sessions. They are coming out STUNNING, and in taking the time to add the finishes that make them pop, its saving me from having to go back and do it for final galleries. If your still waiting, hang tight, they are on the way!

I like to update at least once a week for everyone waiting on photos. I just finished the morning sessions of 10/11 and have started working on the afternoon. It is taking me a bit longer to edit this year as I am not doing quick basic edits for proof galleries. I am taking the time to edit the full gallery beautifully. This way, when you get your photos, they will be done. In the past once you selected your favorites id then photoshop those. It was a lot to juggle getting proof galleries out for clients. who hadn't seen their photos yet, and getting final galleries done. This has simplified the process and you will actually get your final images faster than before since they will be done when you get them. (the bonus is your full gallery will be edited beautifully). About 80% of my clients order the full galleries, so it just makes sense. If your waiting, please have patients, I promise they will be worth the wait!! I edit all day every day and get through about 500 images a day. (that's between 2 and 3 galleries depending on the shoot and if it was 30 minutes or 15.). I just wanted to give everyone an update on where I'm at and the process since its a bit different this year.

I've been editing non stop, all day every day during the week and shooting all weekend. I'm doing things a bit different this year and I'm editing full galleries at once. This is taking a little longer now, but its actually going to save me time in the long run because I don't have to go back and photoshop your favorites once you select them from your proof gallery. Bonus is, your full gallery is beautifully edited with different finishes in each set. I'm currently on 10/5 for transparency. I have about 10 more galleries to edit and get out from that day before moving on to 10/11. If your waiting, I promise they will be worth the wait, they are stunning!!

Fall minis are underway and we are soooooo in love with all of the photos! We took LOTS this weekend and will be editing non stop till November. I'll do my best to post sneak peeks as we go. Here is the first round! 😍

We are giving away one free mini session ! Every year we pick an organization or cause to donate sessions to. This year I want to give back to our wonderful community. We take pride in separating ourselves from other photographers by working hard to make our sessions fun. We work in teams of 2, a professional photographer with 17 years experience and an assistant that works so hard to get kids of all ages to look, smile and laugh. We shoot for real authentic smiles. Not posed. This year we upgraded to the best camera on the market. We shoot in Acton and Sudbury every weekend in October! It is that time of year (ALREADY!) Fall is quickly approaching and our books are officially open for mini sessions. We have done some MAJOR upgrading this year. We will now be shooting with the Nikon Z9. It is the best camera that Nikon makes. I was not happy with my D750s performance last year and finally took the plunge into mirrorless technology. I can’t believe I waited so long, it is a dream for clean/crisp top quality images. I have decided to keep prices the same as last year while I’m rebuilding my portfolio using the new gear. This camera allows to adjust settings and view them live which should drastically reduce editing/turnaround time. This year minis will be held at the Acton arboretum and Wayside Inn Grist mill in Sudbury. Both locations allow a wide variety of gorgeous backgrounds in a condensed area giving clients many options to choose from in a short amount of time. I can shoot 100 photos in 15 minutes if all things align. We specialize in families. I work with an amazing assistant who works very hard getting kids (and animals) of all ages to look and smile. We go for REAL smiles and we have many tricks up our sleeves to get everyone laughing and having a great time. While 15 minutes is the perfect amount of time for older children, we strongly recommend doubling sessions for younger kids and if you bring pets. Both can take additional time to warm up. (Not always, it honestly varies.. some kids jump right in, some need to warm up.) Over the last 17 years we have worked with many kinds of neurodiverse families. Being an autism mom myself, I know how challenging the thought of doing family photos can be. We take pride in having an understanding of neurodiversity and will be so happy to capture beautiful family photos for you. Pets are always welcome. We will be shooting every weekend in October (In Acton and Sudbury) and a few golden hour sessions in September at the Acton Arboretum. The earlier in the season you book, the faster the turn around time is. You will receive 15 minutes of shooting. We provide seating, some seasonal props, different sittings for younger children, (buckets, rocking chair, etc) You will receive a full basic edited watermarked proof gallery where you will choose your favorite 5 images to be photoshopped. Once completed those 5 professionally edited photos will be put in a private online gallery for you to download from. The option to purchase full sessions and prints are available and affordable. This is our 17th year and we’re really looking forward to our best yet!

I was not happy with my Nikon D750s performance basically the last 2 years. I’ve had to spend so much time in editing fixing the shortcomings of a very well loved camera. After the fall I took basically all proceeds from fall sessions and bought the best camera on the market. The Nikon Z9 is the best/latest in mirrorless technology and the future of photography. This is a HUGE investment which we know will produce top quality images! I’ll be booking spring sessions with more time than typical sessions as I personally adjust to shooting with this BEAST of a camera! If interested in booking a session shoot me a message. I’ll be easing in at the Acton arboretum, but can be flexible with locations. I plan on releasing a few spring mini dates but if anyone would like a private session at reduced rate to help me get comfortable with the new camera, I’ll be doing a couple reduced rate sessions before spring mini rush!

Whew!! I always aim to complete editing before thanksgiving each year, but this is the first year it actually took so long! by switching to editing more in light room it definitely took longer removing background people from most photos. Everyones galleries came out stunning, especially all of the golden hours! rather than posting many sneak peeks, I figured id just post a wrap of the fall season! As always its been our honor to take your families photos, we hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to working with everyone again next year. :)
