I can’t wait to share the beautiful experience we had at Amanda and Alex’s wedding! I delivered a few sneak peeks shortly after their wedding day, but their blog post is now live as well with links to all their amazing vendors! From the moment I arrived at Jolene Family Winery near Richmond, Virginia, you could feel the magic in the air. This place is stunning—the sunlight filtering through the trees, making everything feel like a hazy fairy tale. Honestly, it was the perfect backdrop for a celebration full of love.

There were so many little details that just made the day shine brighter. Amanda’s dress was breathtaking, with delicate fabric and beading with that kind of elegance that makes you stop and take a breath. And the flowers! Every detail felt like it had a story to tell. Everything was so meticulously planned, from the custom newspapers to the reception decor. You could see how much thought they put into it all.

After the “I do’s,” we walked through the property for some portraits, and let me tell you, the light was just magical! You know those golden hour moments that make everything look like it’s glowing? That was every bit of it. Amanda and Alex were so natural in front of the camera, their joy pouring out, and I feel so lucky to capture that.

And let’s not forget about the reception! The party was a blast from the first dance to the very last game. Friends and family gathered together, and you could see the genuine happiness on everyone’s faces.

If you’ve never been there, it’s one of those places that feels like a slice of heaven, especially with the Blue Ridge Mountains acting as a stunning backdrop. Picture rolling hills, lush greenery, and that unmistakable charm that comes with an elegant and rustic barn. This wasn’t just any wedding; it felt like stepping into a real fairytale.

The term “amazing couple” was stuck in my head and I actually had a hard time not saying it. 🤣 All of my couples are amazing and I love you all! I’m in awe literally every day when I’m shooting a wedding, engagement or family session. Whether it’s with repeat clients, sisters of past brides or new clients. How special is it to live these moments with people and give them memories they get to hold onto forever? 🥹

I found a misalignment in my business. Here’s what I’m changing 👇

From now on my content is going to change because I truly do not care about following trends, views or interactions on my reels or social media in general. I want my communication to align on my website, across all social media platforms, emails and in my zoom calls with couples. I’m not sure how I didn’t realize this before, but I’m excited to show up as myself on here!

It’s that time again…… Time for an intro post! 🤗

For those who are new here, my name is Haley. I’m the photographer, CEO, marketing director, accountant and editor behind Haley Givens Photography! 😉 My boyfriend, Colby, also holds an unpaid position and his title is “The one who brings all of my visions to life.” My daughter, Addi, is the official mascot and cheerleader as well. I’m so grateful for them both supporting me following this dream!

10 Random Things About Me.. Is there anything we can relate with?!

1) I was born and raised in Northern Michigan, I lived in Ohio for 8 years and I’ve lived in Virginia since 2022!

2) I have a 7 year old daughter who is my whole world! You’ll definitely catch us out at one of her games! 🏀 🥎 📣

3) I love nature. Plants, animals, you name it! Just not spiders. 😅

4) Diet Coke, always. 🙊

5) I’ve been a photographer since 2012. My first business name was Moment Like This Photography. 😅🧀

6) I taught myself to braid last year! You see those corn rows in Colby’s hair?! 😏 I’m not a pro, but definitely proud of myself. It felt great to learn something new and serve someone I love!

7) I do my own nails! This was a learning curve as well, but they’re good enough for me! It’s a good creative outlet and it saves money!

8) I love photography because I am business minded and I love art, but my favorite part is serving others and making connections with my clients!

9) Keeping my car clean is my biggest struggle. As a teenager it was my car and my bedroom though so at least I’ve gotten it down to just one, right?! 😂🙈 I’m doing my best over here. You win some and you lose some. And I lose this one every time. 🤣

10) It’s hard for me to get in front of the camera, which is why I push myself to! These headshots were taken by (edited by me) and the family photos are our sneak peeks from ! Thank you both for capturing these for us so beautifully! 🥰❤️ On that note, community over competition >>>> I love supporting other photographers on their journey!
