Rain Today… Forever Tomorrow. Rainy week!! Processing images, Cooking something fresh, enjoying live music, getting some exercise between the drops and spending time with family and friends

You know, the kind of weekend that slows you down just enough to actually think. And here’s what I keep coming back to while I edit these photos in front of me right now:

Every single session I photograph starts with someone finally deciding, today is the day. We’re doing this. Not when things settle down. Not when the kids are older. Not when the timing is perfect.

Just… now. This season. These faces. This chapter.

The rain will clear. Summer is coming fast. And the light in June and July? It’s the best of the entire year for photography.

I walked into 100 women in white dresses - here’s what happened!!

Okay, I have to share this. I showed up to photograph a college graduate this week and I was NOT prepared for what I walked into. Over 100 women - All there for their own photo shoots. White dresses everywhere. It looked like the most elegant flash mob in history!!

And the guys? They showed up too; caps, gowns, big smiles, ready to document every second of what they worked four years to earn.

Here’s what struck me standing in the middle of all of it…
Every single one of these graduates, women AND men, had someone in their corner who is beyond proud right now.

Graduation isn’t just a milestone. It’s a moment. One that disappears faster than a cap thrown in the air. If your graduate hasn’t had their photos taken yet, there’s still time. But book soon. Apparently the white dress situation is… competitive. 😄

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, grandmother, step mom, aunt, and fur mama out there. Today of all days, put the phone down for a moment. Look around at your people. Laugh too loud. Hug too long.
And then… pick the phone back up and take the picture.
