I have a lot of new followers, so I feel like it's time for an introduction post!

I'm Cassandra ๐Ÿ‘‹ but most people call me Cassie. I was fortunate to grow up with an animal-loving family that helped me chase my dreams from an early age. My love for horses came naturally, and I eventually "stole" my mom's Quarter Horse, Copper, in my teenage years. Through him I learned to appreciate Dressage and photography and meshed the two in my adult years.

I sadly lost Copper last year, but, my journey continues with Re*****on "Remi" my young Saddlebred. We've had almost six years of bonding and this year it's really turned into something special. He reignited not only my passion for riding, but also how much I love photographing shows and equestrians.

When I'm not photographing or riding, I'm caring for my "cat pack" of indoor kitties, hiking all over Ohio and beyond, bird watching and going to concerts.

I'm so thankful for my family, friends and all the new friends I'm making along the way! ๐Ÿซถ

While a lot felt like muscle memory, I had to relearn some steps, including editing such a large volume so quickly. It was also my first year videoing a show, and as with all things, there's a learning curve. So my "intro show season rate" is a thank you to everyone who let me photograph and video and get back in the groove!

For a bit of insight, I ๐—ฑ๐—ผ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ use AI/software to sort images (over 4000 images/videos were taken Saturday) and I look through each one to select the best, plus, I'm editing video too... that personal touch is taking me just a day or two longer, but it's a work in progress to get more efficient! Equine Affaire is just ๐˜๐˜„๐—ผ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ต๐˜€ away.

I will be bringing my camera again, but I want to be transparent with what I'm allowed to share. I've been going to Equine Affaire with my mom for 20 years now, and I plan to go to that many and more in the future. Because of that, I have to follow the rules Equine Affaire sets... plus, I do this because I love to, and I want the keep a great relationship with the community.

They hire professional photographers and they want attendees to buy those pictures - all other photographers have to apply for permission. I've had to turn down so many people when they ask for my pictures because my contract was specific to certain people/groups only.

I need to know now if a) those groups would like me to photograph this year so I can apply again and b) if any additional groups want me to photograph.

My goal would be getting accepted as a group-specific freelancer again, not a regular freelancer. If I don't apply, I can't give any of my work to people, only share on social media with heavy watermarks.
