Weddings are full of different traditions and ways for each couple to celebrate their love for each other while showing symbols of their unification through marriage.

Some people light unity candles, others pour two different colors of sand together, or some construct unity crosses. Even though the actions are different the symbolic nature remains the same. A marriage is about 2 individual people with different strengths and weaknesses coming together (two becoming one) to create a cohesive unit that works together to create a new family.

Jody + Ben opted to symbolize their commitment to marriage by pouring together pink and black sand from “his” and “hers” jars into an “ours” jar. When the two sands are mixed the sands can never again be separated. The jar then becomes a perfect wedding keepsake that can be displayed in the house as a reminder of the love they share for each other and the commitment they have made to each other as husband and wife.

There are no words that can describe the pain and heartbreak of losing a loved one unexpectedly much less losing your wife 1 week after giving birth to your first child. I know this is a tough time financially for everyone with the quarantine so please do not feel obligated to contribute financially. 2019 has just flown by! As the year comes to a close I just wanted to thank my clients from this year to capture the special moments in their lives!! This year I was able to shoot two of my own weddings for 2 AMAZING couples!! I also was able to take photos for 2 WONDERFUL families. So thank you , (and Spencer), (and Tony), and . One of my favorite things to see at a wedding reception is the cake. Partly because I just love cake, but also I think it provides such a unique addition to each couples wedding. The cake provides a key part of the not only the traditions of the wedding reception but also the couple’s wedding theme. There are so many different ways to make and decorate a cake that no 2 wedding cakes are alike.

This particular cake was made by one of the bridesmaids for this wedding. This cake was absolutely stunning in person and was beautifully made which made it so fun to photograph.
