Latest project completed. I really enjoyed doing a pattern update and checkering this Beretta 686 12 gauge. It was checkered at 26 lpi and checkered for Rich Cole Gunsmithing.

Borderless Point Patterns are not for the faint of heart. I find them to be super fun and easy but there are others that would disagree. Wood gun stocks are shaped by humans. They are often more round on one side than they are on the other. With a borderless point pattern the challenge is to make your points match regardless of how the gun is shaped or how the grain and density of the wood pushes you around as you checker the stock.

That is the biggest challenge with point patterns and I rise to the challenge.

I was finally able to get pictures of this beauty once it made its way through the finishing department. Now to create another one, sounds easy right? If only!!!
