Happy Birthday to My Man.

I lost my friend last week. The 13 years I knew him seem impossibly short. He was a force of nature and hard to ignore. I am not sure I have ever known someone with a bigger, more caring heart. It pains me to acknowledge that he couldn’t extend that same kindness to himself. Our boys shared a birthday, so our families were drawn together. But our friendship was much more than that. Our mutual love of sports, movies, music, and our boys teams, always kept the conversation lively. Golf outings became a tradition, but it was our epic bocce matches that truly defined our camaraderie. Those hours spent in the court, spanning from two to six per match, were marked not by profound revelations, but by ceaseless laughter. Returning home Christina would ask what we talked about. My answer was always the same; Nothing. Because in truth, our time spent together was defined not by words exchanged, but by the joyous resonance of our laughter. Now, in the wake of his departure, a void echoes within me - a testament to the depth of our friendship and the profound loss I know grapple with.
