Why’s and If’s drowned my thoughts, honestly they still do. I doubt myself a lot. I’m quite literally my own worst critic. You know that saying “comparison is the thief of joy”? It’s true.

I was comparing myself during the time I took this photo. I wasn’t good enough. I failed. I wasn’t pretty enough. I wasn’t her. I wasn’t what I should have been and the list goes on and on and on.

Looking back now, I’d do anything to go back and shake the girl in the photo, because what she didn’t see is how hard she fought daily. How hard she worked on herself. How much love she poured into her own self. But instead of living in that moment I was comparing myself to someone else. I robbed myself of celebrating the wins I should have been celebrating back then.

So stop comparing yourself. You are beautiful. You are worth it. Get out of your own way and allow yourself to be proud of you.

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching and reflecting on my bo***ir side of my business. The inquires have been flowing in and I was bouncing back and forth on the idea of opening that side again. But I wanted it to be its own thing. To be its own entity from my wedding side of things because this deserves to have its own spotlight. It deserves its own space to empower individuals and show them how beautiful they are even when our mind is telling us otherwise. So…welcome to House of Onyx. Where art deco/roaring 20’s and speakeasy vibes will be shown throughout. Because bo***ir is still a battle of its own, so why not rebel against the norm.
