Photography by Ffej Local landscape and wildlife photographer located in Southern New England

After 20 years as a Connecticut State Trooper, with the last 11 years of my career spent processing, documenting and photographing primarily homicides, I am now able to view the word through a new lens. My experiences have given me the ability to see things a little differently; focusing on detail, while being able to appreciate simple things and the peaceful calm of interesting landscapes, wildlife, and architecture. My wife Rebecca's passion for Birding is contagious and has led to an almost daily search for unusual, or interesting feathered friends while hiking our dog (Kota) in the forests of Eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island. My goal is to express what I see in the world around me onto print in a way which captures that very moment which grabbed my attention. My focus is primarily the many Wildlife Management Areas and State Forests of my backyard of Eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island, with occasional adventures to other far away lands to include Cape May New Jersey, Nevada, Alaska, Ireland, Spain, France, Switzerland, and Iceland among others. Hopefully, seeing some of my images will inspire you to go outside, explore, and support your local parks and forests while appreciating the landscapes and wildlife you may have never known were around you.

Sooo.... If you are looking for something to do this weekend, head on over to the 60th annual Scituate Art Festival! I will be one of 200 artists and craftspeople along with antiques, food and music! This is my last outdoor show of the year and the weather, at least for Saturday and Sunday, is looking spectacular (fingers crossed for Monday!!!). Last year, a pesky Nor'easter interrupted the festival. So, this year, I have a few shots of that very same Nor'easter taken from Point Judith in Narragansett as well as a few Northern Lights photographs I had taken from 2024 and didn't get a chance to showcase:)

My, "Old Saybrook Collection"; a compilation of photographs taken in various locations within Old Saybrook, and all within 18 hours beginning at 1:00pm on September 14th and ending at 7:00am on September 15th, 2026. If you happen to find yourself in the Old Saybrook area this coming weekend, swing on by to the 62nd Annual Old Saybrook Arts and Crafts Festival on the Old Saybrook Town Green! The weather is looking absolutely perfect and I'll be set up at booth #102... right on Main Street by the Fire Department:)
