If you are following this page, you know that I usually don't do photo dumps, however...
On August 1st, I was honored to have been asked to be the second photographer for the Ms. & Mrs. Asia Michigan pageant at Sterling Heights High School.
This is not something that I normally do. I usually do portraits in a more intimate, one-on-one setting. I know from past experience that a fast moving event in a dark auditorium will push my cameras to their limit. I am a decent event photographer but it's not my specialty.
Although I was ready to accept the assignment for a non-profit.
There are many reasons why I wouldn't just post photos.
First, I want the photos to represent the contestant well.
Second, I want the photos to represent what I do well.
As such, it usually takes me longer before the images are ready to be seen.
Third, I want to protect my copyright. Posting images without a watermark is just begging someone to "steal" them and post them as their own.
Finally, I am working with some of the contestants to provide them with their own set of pictures and if I haven't sent the pictures to the contestant, then why would I post them on a public business page.
I work my regular job from 8:30am to 5:30pm. When I get home, sometimes, I don't feel like retouching images. I have other things that I need to do... like mow the lawn, which I haven't done in a few weeks. Luckily, the grass hasn't grown much. The weeds have, though.
After careful consideration, I have decided to post SOME of the pictures. I have chosen one of each contestant in their cultural attire and in their gowns. The Ms. Asia contestants also performed a talent portion.
I hope that you enjoy the photos.
And if you have any questions, please message me.
Thank you.
