Holiday décor makes a home feel festive, but when we're photographing homes for real estate listings, we know firsthand how quickly decorations can take over a space.

With Halloween here, Thanksgiving around the corner, and Christmas not far behind, here's your reminder to keep the seasonal clutter in check.

Keep countertops clear.
Between pumpkins, candy bowls, and seasonal displays, kitchens can get crowded quickly. Clear surfaces help rooms look clean and spacious in listing photos.

Choose a few statement pieces.
You don't have to decorate every corner! A few intentional decorations can make a space feel festive without distracting from the home's features.

Keep entryways and walkways open.
Oversized decorations and crowded porches can make spaces feel smaller and less inviting.

Don't overcrowd your living spaces.
Seasonal pillows, blankets, and decorations can add up. Keep the focus on the room itself, especially if you're planning to list your home.

Declutter before decorating for the next holiday.
Pack away what you no longer need before bringing out the next round of decorations.

Great real estate photography should make a property look its best, not make it look like something it isn't. 📸

At Red Hog Media, we believe authenticity builds buyer trust. That's why we balance high-impact presentation with MLS compliance, transparency, and truth in advertising.

So, what can we edit, and what's off-limits?

✅ WHAT WE CAN DO:
• Sky replacements on overcast days to create a brighter, more inviting image.
• Grass greening and color balancing to enhance the appearance of lawns.
• Natural window exposure recovery to properly showcase both interior spaces and outdoor views.
• Lens distortion correction to ensure rooms and architectural features are accurately represented.

🚫 WHAT WE CANNOT DO:
• Erase permanent power lines, utility towers, or other existing infrastructure.
• Remove neighboring homes, buildings, or structures from the image.
• Edit out significant physical damage to make a property appear to be in better condition.
• Alter, conceal, or remove material defects that could mislead potential buyers.

Why does this matter?
Because buyers deserve to know what they're getting, and agents deserve marketing that protects their credibility.

Our job is to showcase every property in its best possible light without changing the reality of what's being sold.
