We are Instant Kornyn, a family printing house from the village of Kornyn in western Ukraine. Our family has been working with paper, books, and printing for more than 33 years. Some time ago, inspired by photo albums from the 1970s and 1980s, we began making handmade albums for Polaroid photos.
This project started from our love for physical memories. We grew up surrounded by paper, ink, books, old machines, and family photographs, and this taught us how meaningful it is to preserve what matters in a tangible way. For us, books and instant photographs have something very similar. Both hold stories, memories, and moments we can return to again and again. That is why we wanted to create albums that feel as special as the photographs inside them: simple, handmade, and lasting.
In our family, we like to write down the small stories behind our photos, such as where they were taken, what the weather was like, or what made that moment special. That is why our albums leave space for small notes and memories, without writing directly on the photo itself.
