My 3 top tips for family pictures:

1~ Let the kids have some say in what they are wearing.

I'm not saying let them wear their favorite paw patrol shirt or neon socks but there's power in giving them choices. You want them to own it.

2~ Don't worry if the kids are looking or not.

More often than not it's the parents not looking because they are worried about their kiddos.😜 We got all the tricks in the bag so let us do the hard work.

3~ Stop trying to make everything perfect.

Someone's hair may be a little out of place or shoes may be missing, but smiles and laughs are what really makes the pictures golden. Take a deep breath and enjoy the crazy.

Also, can we just have an appreciation post for how amazing Kayla is (and freaking gorgeous)?

Short sleeves, high heels & freezing cold snow & she still was laughing & smiling more than anyone I know.

Can I share my all time favorite outfit planning secrets with you?

~ When in doubt start with neutrals

~ Pick one accent color to make it easy

~ Keep the patterns to a minimum

~ Think about your shoot location (you don't want to blend in but you don't want to clash either)

~ Plan out what you will use your pictures for (match with your home decor, your wedding colors, etc.)

& MOST IMPORTANT:
~ Pick outfits that speak to you & make you feel confident. You're the real beauty here.

It is so important to me that my photography business isn't here just to make some extra mullah. Thats actually far from what I envision this business achieving.

I want this business to :

~ Help people feel & be confident in their own skin

~ Empower individuals to let their incredibly unique personalities shine

~ Spread positivity & joy as much as possible

~ Capture genuine timeless images that hold memories forever

And in the mix of helping others believe those things, I hope to learn to believe and live them myself.

As long as I can remember I have dreamed of becoming a photographer. And I really mean this...here’s the proof:

I used to sneak the family camera and have photoshoots with my American Girl Doll.

I would print hundreds of pictures and create scrapbooks for hours (yeah no one does that anymore... except me because I love love love pictures).

Andddd I have always been that wedding guest who watches the photographer more than the actual bride and groom (ooppsss).

Seriously, it has always been my thing and trust me, you give me the biggest smiles and excitement when I get to tell your story and create images for you!
