Like most photographers, I used to hoard every shot. Over time, I’ve learned to be more intentional behind the lens to avoid storage headaches, but tonight’s cull of unsalvageable photos proved that holding onto raw frames sometimes pays off.
On September 25, 2025, I had a family portrait session for the Gangers on a warm, golden evening. I overshot that day, saving a few raw bench photos of their daughter, Emma, without knowing how to edit them. A full gallery was delivered but only the best and favorites out of a hundred taken. Two months later, in November, Emma’s father, Mark, passed away suddenly. To my knowledge, that was their final family photo session together.
Ten months after his passing, I look at those unedited images with fresh eyes. In the background light, it feels as though Mark is still there—watching over his wife and little girl, reminding us that his spirit continues to guide them with love.
Preserving memories with my lens is my love language. I genuinely care about my client’s session and outcome. I know too well, life is too short, and in my life I want to be your pet and family photographer capturing memories you can cherish forever. ❤️ Lisa Graf
