This will be a long post but it’s a good story. This year Pete Yorn celebrates the 25th anniversary of his debut release . I was lucky enough to catch 2 shows back to back on his tour supporting the album. 4/9/02 was the first of two shows at Mississippi Nights. I met Pete after the show and I told him I was seeing him live the next night in Columbia, MO The Blue Note and told him at midnight when it hit 4/11 that I would be 21. I then asked him if I could have my first legal b**r with him. He introduced me to his tour manager and I was told to find him before the show to set everything up. The show started on 4/10 where he wished happy birthday to me from stage and the set ended about 11p. Come about 11:50p I met up with Pete and asked if I could buy him a b**r and he handed me a Bud light he had waiting there for me. We took our picture together and had a b**r then I gallivanted around Columbia getting drinks everywhere…legally for the first time 😉 Oh and I am such a nerd I kept the bottle he gave me.
Since then I have followed Pete, seen him 6 times live over the years, and he has also shaped how I write and listen to music. Pete, thank you and it would be cool if our paths crossed again. This was definitely a once in a lifetime experience and I cannot thank you enough!

and for those who think you have to get out of the city to enjoy nature, just look around. Every morning I go into the backyard with a cup of coffee and look at all our plants. The amount of life outside of our human existence is awe inspiring if you just look around.

Some of my favorite pics from my week in the “country”. Next time you go to Hermann, MO continue on hwy 100 past the campgrounds. The drive though Gasconade County seeing the river and farmland then continuing on hwy N passing through Morrison to Chamios is beautiful.

Goodbye kind soul, Glen Hansard someone who was so sincere in everything he did. This one hit hard.
On 11/23/15 I had the opportunity to photograph Glen The Pageant where he did one of the coolest things ever. He came out to open the show with just him, no guitar. He asked the crowd to be quiet and I was stunned that the entire place was silent. He then sang acapella. The room was dark, with one stage light and it was haunting and beautiful. Right there he sold me. An artist through and through, I will miss him.

Yesterday seeing was amazing, it was hauling and the engineer gave everyone an awesome display of it’s power and it’s horn!

AWESOME ART ALERT today until 8p go by Fifteen Windows Gallery to see an amazing exhibit of 90s “grunge era” photographs from three photogs that contributed so much to capturing the scene. IT IS ONLY SHOWING today!
You will see prints of iconic album covers and others you may have seen in album liner notes or in features in Rolling Stone or Hit Parader magazines. I went particularly to see Lance Mercer work who basically was the first tour photographer Pearl Jam had. I purchased some signed limited edition prints and spent about an hour just staring into the dream scape of my youth. Saw some awesome candid shots I had never scene as well. Truly amazing work.
