I've talked about how working with women and minority owned small business owners is incredibly important to me multiple times here on .
This platform serves our community in many ways. Sometimes the waters are tough to navigate and prioritize; but ultimately, I am so grateful to the community it helps foster. Online sure, but mostly the way it has helped connect people in real life.
This amazing woman, someone who I have actually known for quite a while, but knew each other in a completely different context, contacted me to do a portrait session with her in my studio.
I love these kind of commissions. They are smaller and generally more intimate than the larger productions I usually work on, but they offer a beautiful way to connect people on a basic, human level. They are a joy. A pause. A creative deep breath.
