🐺🦅 I'll be at Wolf Fest this Saturday — hope to see you there!

I'm excited to be participating in Wolf Fest 2026, hosted by the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, Missouri, this Saturday, October 17!

If you've never been, Wolf Fest is a family-friendly celebration of wildlife and conservation, featuring opportunities to see endangered wolves and other animals, live music, food trucks, children's activities, and even bird demonstrations by The World Bird Sanctuary.

I'll have a table at the event with copies of my children's book, Murphy Makes a Difference: A True Story, and I'll be personally signing books throughout the day.

Still a little strange seeing it sitting on an actual library shelf.

I can’t seem to sit still while I wait for the books to arrive, so I’ve turned my attention to marketing.

I designed this Murphy stand-up, and it is currently with the production department. Each one will stand about 18 inches tall! One will be displayed in The World Bird Sanctuary gift shop, one will be mine to use when I sell at events, and I ordered a few backups for good measure.

Shouldn’t be much longer now folks!!

Hey everyone!

Many of you are familiar with the Murphy story — the bald eagle who incubated a rock and later fostered two orphaned eaglets. Over the years, people from around the world have suggested that this story should be made into a book, and now that time has come.

I’ve spent the better part of this year working on it, and it’s finally off to the printers. It may still be a few months before I receive the first shipment of 2,000 books, but I’m looking forward to seeing the first proof in a few weeks.

Writing a children's book isn’t just about writing, I came to find out. I had to start a publishing company, register the book with the U.S. Copyright Office, design a new website, create a page to handle online orders, learn new software, and a lot more. It has been fun, exciting, frustrating, annoying, and rewarding.

This book was written to support The World Bird Sanctuary Murphy’s home, with most of the proceeds being donated directly to them.
