Something you may not know about me is that I grew up as the youngest of 5 kids with 4 older brothers 😅 Yes, the only girl and the youngest. I will be the first to tell you my brothers were truly the sweetest, most wonderful brothers a little girl could ask for. Now when we gather we are a loud group of 22 with 11 kids of our own a wide range of ages and stages of life. It’s truly the best.

And because of that, I have found a deep love for extended families. I adore the dynamics, the chaos, the stories we are share. If your family is gathering this summer I would be truly honored and delighted to join you for family photos — These will be the photos you all will cherish for a lifetime 💛

We’re a week into summer and I am just obsessed. Slow mornings, days at home. My boys and I were made for summer. ❤️☀️ The rhythm we found to work last summer was planning for mornings at home and a couple afternoon adventures per week and we’re hoping to stick with that again this year but we’re flexible and that is the best part!

I think it’s time I get back to posting photos I’m proud of — This night was a magical one! The flowering trees always have such a narrow window of peak bloom and to catch it on a beautiful warm spring evening was just perfection. ✨

1. Your home is integral to your family’s story.
Last year we ended up doing two family photoshoots at home, a winter photoshoot in January where we made pancakes and played Lego and another in August where we grilled and played in the backyard. These photos mean so much to us, especially now, as they captured our boy’s first childhood home in such an authentic and unfiltered way.

2. Our house felt like home as soon as we put photos on the wall.
After moving all the boxes and getting furniture in place, the first thing that made our new house feel like home was putting up family photos we loved. Not only did it connect us to our old house as we had them hanging there first, but made the space uniquely ours rather than the former owners.

3. Printed pictures are invaluable.
A month after moving in I placed a large order of photos of our new house, changes we had made and family firsts to put in an album. Our first Halloween, our first holiday dinner in the dining room, the process of transforming rooms with paint. All of these moments are for us and our kids to see as we begin to make new memories as a family.

As a bonus, the former owners left us a picture of our house from 1995! So fun to see all that has changed.
