After much thought, prayer, and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close EMRE Collective Studio to the public and transition into a smaller, private studio space for our own operations.
From the beginning, we poured so much into building this space and creating a community we are incredibly proud of. Transforming a former CBD shop into what EMRE became over the past year was something truly special.
However, since opening, there have been ongoing concerns related to the structure and functionality of the building—Along with other operational challenges, these issues have made it increasingly difficult to confidently operate the studio as a public space. While the new ownership has been understanding and supportive, the reality is that continuing in Hillsboro Plaza has felt more like a burden than a blessing.
At the same time, I’ve (Marie) been in a personal season of transition—seeking clarity and direction—and have felt a clear shift to move differently, with more intention and alignment.
This next chapter allows us to simplify, refocus, and create in a way that better supports our vision moving forward.
We are so proud of what we built in just one year and the community that came from it.
To everyone who supported EMRE—thank you. It meant more than we can express.
This chapter is closing to the public, but something new is being built behind the scenes.
