👉To Purchase Fine Art Photography Prints or Sign up for Newsletter to Learn Pro Tips Visit the Website Link I started learning photography in high school over 40 years ago! I got my first Canon film camera and set up my own darkroom in our basement. I concentrated mainly on black and white photography those days. I

got my first digital camera in 2005 and have practiced almost daily since. I love photographing all aspects of nature - wildlife, plants, landscapes, insects, etc...

I love seeing and taking pictures of the wonders of what our world has to offer - Beautiful landscapes, wildlife in action, close ups of flowers and butterflies, and more. Now that I am retired, I will be sharing my photography experiences as I visit new places, learn to see old places in a new light, learn and practice new photography and post-processing skills, and apply techniques I have learned over the years as an amateur photographer. Here's something I wanted to share: a red-shouldered hawk perched on a slim post, head turned with a keen, unblinking stare. Without color, light and shadow define the bird's form and texture, with the wings catching a subtle metallic reflection against the velvety midtones of the chest. The mood is calm and watchful, more poised patience than aggression.
