For those who know me, this place has been a second home to me for, literally, half my life. And god knows I would not be where I am at in life if it wasn't for this old movie house in Downtown Springfield.
In 2005, I was just wrapping up high school and a chance happening led to an opportunity to volunteer at the Gillioz. By this point, it was months before the scaffolding would go up. Since then, not only have I witnessed the restoration efforts firsthand, but was there for the reopening, as well as two decades of events.
Thought it would be fitting to post a mere sliver of thirteen years' worth of photos I've captured, ranging from concerts to movie showings to opera, as well as the occasional photo shoot.
And on that note, join me in wishing the Gillioz Theatre a very happy one hundredth birthday!
