We have great looks from our house at sunrises and moonrises....but not so much for sunsets. Fortunately, we have great neighbors who don't mind us shooting from their backyard.
While there was lovely color on the horizon tonight, the real show was up above.

Well, another visit to Magee for migratory birds is in the books.
Thank you to David for always making our visits here special! ❤️❤️❤️
A lot of birds flew out during the night, so the boardwalk was slow.....and crowded!
Still, there were things to see...including a Beaver making his way along the Estuary Trail shoreline.
Here's some looks...names in captions.

We had a great day at Magee Marsh...lots of birds and more!
There's a pair of Sandhill Cranes that have a "c**t" (chick) and as we were leaving we saw them along the causeway. I hopped out of the van and snapped some pics...and was fortunate to catch the c**t.
Earlier, as I was heading out to the Estuary Trail, I was greeted by a curious American Mink that popped up on the rocks to check me out.
David caught some great action pics of a Northern Water Thrush as it caught and consumed a Six Spotted Fishing Spider.
We had great looks at a Whip-poor- Will, and a Black-Necked Stilt.

An up-front-and-personal encounter with a female Pileated Woodpecker on the Creekside trail at Old Reid. This lady didn't pay me much mind as I watched her mine for grubs.

I observed a very cool, but very poignant interaction today. It shows the "Circle of Life" and I feel like the observation outweighs the grossness factor.
I was walking at Cedar Bog in Champaign County, Ohio and saw what I though was a bee....I shot some flight shots and then realized that it was actually an American Carrion Beetle. As I watched, it flew a few feet away and landed on a dead 5-Lined Skink (these Skinks are very common at Cedar Bog Nature Preserve).
As I got closer, I saw that multiple species were making good use of the carcass. Soon, two more American Carrion Beetles joined the crowd. Some mating behavior followed. Overall a pretty cool observation!

Visitors to Clark Lake yesterday....
Hundreds of Double-Crested Cormorants stopped by on their way north.
These crazy birds have amazing turquoise eyes during the breeding season.
Also lots of Bonaparte's Gulls. They're white with a black head.

2 years ago we watched the Solar Total Eclipse from Buck Creek State Park.
What an amazing experience.....
