One of the greatest joys of being a birth photographer is getting to witness the very beginning of a family’s story. Having the honor of capturing all three of these sweet kiddos on the day they were born is something I will never take for granted!

From her newborn session many years ago, to all the moments we’ve captured along the way, Miss Eva has always brought two things to my camera: that gorgeous head of blonde hair and a personality that is as sweet as they come!

I am absolutely loving these gorgeous fall evenings! Golden sunlight, crisp autumn air, and the most beautiful natural light make this time of year perfect for capturing family memories. This past weekend, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with a few of my favorite returning families, and we had so much fun together!

First up was the adorable Miss Madelynn and her parents. As a former birth client, I’ve had the incredible privilege of photographing Madelynn from the very day she entered the world. Watching her grow and seeing her personality shine in front of my camera is such a joy. Her energy and sparkle, paired with her parents’ relaxed, easygoing nature, made this session an absolute delight!

If you know this family, you understand exactly why I love having them in front of my camera. They are truly some of the kindest people I know, and every session is an opportunity to capture beautiful memories while catching up, even if only for a little while.

As I drove away from this session, it hit me that this will likely be the last time I photograph them with all four of their children still living at home. Their oldest daughter is just a year older than my own, so I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow up, from a little girl dressed as Glinda the Good Witch for Halloween to a beautiful young woman preparing to head off to college next year. It’s moments like these that remind me just how quickly time passes and how important it is to preserve the seasons of life we wish we could hold onto just a little longer.

One of the sweetest parts of what I do is watching families grow in front of my camera! I’ve been capturing these adorable kiddos since they were still in their mama’s belly, and it’s always such a joy to see them again. Big sister Aria is an absolute sweetheart and always makes my job a little easier, especially when it comes to keeping up with her adorable toddler brother!

I had the incredible privilege of photographing both of these sweet girls making their arrival into this world, so getting to watch them grow through the years—and continue to capture their personalities along the way—is such a gift.

And these two are always so much fun during our sessions! The connection with each other and their parents, the laughter, and their playful personalities make it impossible not to smile behind the camera. And while we always capture those sweet posed portraits, often my favorite images are the ones where they’re simply being themselves.
