Last year I had an odd shift in my normal wedding routine.

Where 8-10 hours weddings are my normal, I had an high influx of weddings that were only 2-4 hours.

Was something wrong? Was my algorithm off? Was I giving off too many micro wedding vibes?

Here's what I learned ➑️

Yeah there were smaller overall coverage times, but the focus on portraits was prioritized higher than in my last 10 years.

It made me nervous at first because I wasn't used to doing portraits that long, especially on wedding days, but quickly it became the blueprint for even my longer weddings.

It taught me a more documentary approach to portraits versus a quick 15-30 minute fire round. I found myself craving that time especially on the full wedding days.

Don't get me wrong I love the tradition of long weddings, but I also see the need for time. Time to be you. Time to be alone. Time to take each other in.

And maybe it feels like that can't happen in front of a camera, but I promise, being in front of a camera with the right person can push you into that frame of mind even more than being alone sometimes.

Anyway, enjoy some of the moments from Kellan and Kevin's fall wedding day ❀️

So many special parts of G&P's wedding that gave a pop of spring gardens in the snow!

From the vintage plates and glasses to the secret handshake after being officially announced Mr & Mrs, there were so many small details that made the whole thing feel warm and personal. Not to mention Grant and Payton and their ability to bring light to any space πŸ’›

Here's to spring and green grass not being too far away!

Posting the last of my cold and cloudy engagement session season in hopes this beautiful weather is here to stay!

I've officially wrapped up editing everything my 2025 season had to offer and have been in a quiet season of waiting. Sorry for the silence πŸ₯΄

The first order of business in 2026 is the arrival of our sweet boy (any day now!). All my energy has been going into getting him nice and squishy for earth side, then my season quickly starts after!

The thing I'm most excited for right now? I get to be in front of the camera for a bit before then. Sometimes when your job is documenting others you can forget that your memories are also worth preserving.

I'm so looking forward to what this year is bringing, and can't wait to take you along! Swipe to see little squish in all his cheeky glory ❀️

I'd never been more proud of my career than in this moment. I think sometimes you feel alone in your mission. In the reality of how important preserving memories are. Rejection confirms that over and over.

Maybe I just over value it?

Maybe generational memories mean more to me?

But she's 4. She wasn't taught this. This was a pure reaction to something we made a priority, and we got to see its impact in the most meaningful way.

So please, don't belittle the importance of capturing the moment. Don't belittle the importance of the person you're hiring understanding your heart.

Find someone who cares about the things you do, because money comes and goes, but so do those moments. You can get more of one, but the other is gone for good. All you'll have left to share are the memories you get from it and the photos you have to portray them.

I get more nerves capturing proposals than I did taking exams or playing sports πŸ˜… (not captured was me furiously sprinting and hiding behind trees on that dirt path lol).

It all went perfect and they were so excited! We had so much fun capturing a few photos after to show off the new bling πŸ˜πŸ’

Congrats Nate and Maddy !

2025 has stretched me in unimaginable ways- creatively, and personally. I started the year with such a clear drive and all of these new things I wanted to add to my business- increased online presence, teaching, podcasts, travel- my journal was full of dreams lol.

2025 put me amongst the most beautiful moments and people. I can't tell you how full my heart is looking back at all of these and the joy you've shared with me πŸ₯Ή

Early in the year we got the most amazing surprise gift of a baby girl. Early into my wedding season, we found out I lost her. The same day we learned we were about to lose the cornerstone of my husband's family. Every plan I had quickly dissolved around that grief. But, every time I've been in a place where my brain can't comprehend the depth of my emotions, photography has helped me heal. I relied on that, knowing the full season of weddings and families to come.

What you didn't know, was a month later, we were given another surprise gift. I've never felt such a controversial mix of emotions, but I chugged along into a super full summer, fall, and winter, because all I could picture were my clients faces. And boy, did you all add so much hope in such a hard time.

I'm entering my third trimester and can't imagine this time without you, your families, and your friends giving me their experience and wisdom. Without the happiness you've included me in. Without the absolute purest love that I got to capture.

Thank you for helping my rainy 2025 have the most beautiful silver lining. I'm so so thankful for you ❀️

Katie and Justin started out my winter weddings with an absolute stunner surrounded by so many incredible people.

There are always challenges when we have less daylight this time of year, but I am always grateful for clients that believe in me to do things that scare me (like direct flash on a whole wedding party lol). Peep the last pic ❀️
