So much of my job is hard to explain without more context 🤷‍♂️

This is a quick splice of a headshot session for True North Brokerage.

They both came to me wanting new headshots but were dreading having photos taken (which is not unusual!)

I love that this clip captures a bit of our interaction at the beginning of the photoshoot. You can see that they're both still easing into being photographed but I'm guiding them through it all.

I believe that my most important job as your photographer is to connect with you as people and to break through that awkwardness as much as possible.

Are you still going to be nervous? You bet!

Can we still have fun and laugh and bumble our way through the session together? Absolutely!

And guess what? At the end of the session, they actually had a good time and photos that they love :)

When Lisa said she wanted an 80s rock-and-roll vibe inspired by Lita Ford, I said... say less, let's break out the smoke machine. 🎸🔥

Lisa waited YEARS to finally do this session. Life got in the way, dates had to be moved, but when everything finally lined up? She brought the dark wardrobe, the silver jewelry, borrowed a couple of incredible guitars, and absolutely set the studio on fire.

We even did side-by-side homage shots to exact Lita Ford photos from the 80s!

A lot of women tell me, "I don't see this exact style on your page, can you still do it?" The answer is almost ALWAYS yes. Your session isn't about fitting into my box. I love to customize and tailor the experience to YOU.

It’s so much fun to create headshots people love, especially when they’ve never liked one before.

Plus, what a great value add for your conference! It is so easy for people to just pop over between sessions and not have to make an appointment.

Jess wanted something a little retro and she told me she didn't want to shy away from color and textures in her photoshoot. With that, I knew we were going to create magic from the start! 😊

She booked her photoshoot to celebrate turning 40 and I am so excited to share how these turned out.

Truly, my favorite way to ring in a new year is to celebrate with a photoshoot. It is something that captures this moment and celebrates all that you are.

It is a day full of fun and then the images you will cherish for a lifetime and serve as a reminder of who you are, even on the hardest of days.
