Photography matters. Art matters. Small businesses matter.

But what matters more is being able to pay rent, put food on the table, and keep our families safe.

I’ve had multiple last minute cancellations and fewer bookings which is deeply affecting my business, and I know many other business owners are experiencing the same. With ICE present in our communities, people are terrified and that fear reaches far beyond one household or one industry.

Small businesses are deeply connected. When one of us can’t earn, we can’t reinvest in other local businesses. It becomes a domino effect that hurts entire communities. Many of us are on survival mode.

If you’re a small business owner and feeling this impact too, I’m open to creating space, possibly a local meet-up here at my studio where we can talk, share resources, and figure out how we can support one another during times like this.

We’ve gone through hard times before, first it was Covid and now is this…..we can get through it!

Just a heartfelt note.

Sometimes photographers open model calls not just to create something beautifut, but to collaborate, to build, and to grow together.

While I Ofelia Guzmán Photography - Oregon Photographer truly enjoy dreaming up new projects and pouring my heart, time, and talent into them, I also want to gently share something important.

Model calls are a collaboration. They require trust, commitment, and follow-through from both sides.

When images aren’t shared, tagged, or supported as agreed, it can feel like the time and care poured into creating them isn’t fully valued. Behind every session is preparation, editing hours, creative energy, and intention often given freely in hopes of mutual support.

This isn’t said with frustration, but with honesty and love for this craft.

If you apply for a model call, please do so with the intention to show up fully, not just in front of the camera, but in supporting the work afterward too.

When collaboration flows both ways, the magic is undeniable 🤍
