When I finish the edits on a wedding, I separate them into categories before sending to the client. One section labeled “Details,” contains all the unique additions that have been included in their wedding day. This could be decor, special clothes, a hand-made sign. There is meaning behind these items; Sometimes this meaning is obvious, and sometimes it's a shared joke between the couple. Here are some of my favorites - a message to the bride's father sewn into his jacket which she revealed to him before walking down the aisle (he cried, I cried, she remained cool.) A fire hose stretched out on display to be used as the couples guest book, both of them were firefighters. A custom made jacket that was given to the bride by her bridesmaids. A recreation of the sign the bride’s grandfather had up when he was getting married many many years before. A pin that served as a subtle nod to horses, something shared between the bride and groom. And Viking horns used for the reception toast for a Viking-themed wedding. While it’s important to finalize the playlist, determine the seating arrangement and decide if you need umbrellas (if your wedding is coming up soon and you’re in Florida, yes. Yes you do.) I think it’s even more important to spend some time adding in some special details. This is what will make the wedding day, your wedding day.
