Personal confession: I actually love text messages 😂
I see so many photography and business mentors teaching that you should get your clients on the phone, and meanwhile… I’m over here texting my clients and perfectly happy about it.
Between shooting sessions, chauffeuring kids to practices, and general life happening in the background, there’s a very real chance that if you call me, it will be LOUD, slightly chaotic, and I will retain approximately 40% of what you tell me.
I also have a terrible habit of not answering numbers I don’t recognize because I get way too many spam calls every day.
And, if we’re really confessing things here… I love having my phone on silent 😅 When things are actually quiet, I can focus and get so much more done. With five kids, I’ve learned to take full advantage of those rare moments of silence.
But I also think texting is just more convenient for a lot of my clients. Most of you are busy moms too. Working, chasing kids, feeding babies, sitting at practices, or doing five other things at once. You can text me when you have a minute, and neither of us has to find the perfect time when we’re both free for a phone call.
Texting lets me actually stop, read what you’re asking, and give you a real answer instead of trying to discuss your newborn session while someone is yelling that they can’t find their shoes.
That said, I will ALWAYS hop on a call if you’d rather talk! Sometimes it’s so much easier to narrow down a location, talk through ideas, or figure something out in five minutes instead of sending 27 texts back and forth.
But given the choice? I love texting 😂
What about you? Are you a phone call person or a text person?
