One of the most beautiful baby showers that I have ever experienced, was held at the John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville, PA. As gorgeous as the set up was, nothing compared to this stunning mommy-to-be. However, it wasn't the pretty dress, hair or make up, but Anisha and her family that made the shower so beautiful. They as a family are such warm-hearted and kind people that genuinely love others. That love was felt throughout the party.

Oh this sweet little one decided that she was not going to miss a moment of her session. There was way too much to see, so we rolled with it. I always say, "The baby is the Boss!" Look at that eye contact. What a beautiful gallery this mommy has to remember this stage of Annabella's life.

This little guy gave me a run for my money. Sleep was not in his vocabulary. He wanted to stay up and watch all that was going on. However, with that said he gave me the cutest looks. I LOVE that he is staring right at me. I wonder what he is thinking?

For nearly 10 years, we had the incredible opportunity to live overseas. During those years, our friends came from countries all around the world. We lived, worked, traveled, celebrated, laughed, and shared life with people from so many different cultures.

Looking back, I realize just how special that season of our lives was. It taught me to appreciate the beauty in our differences and the incredible stories and traditions that each culture carries.

So, when I was recently given the opportunity to photograph families from Korea, India, and Africa, it stirred up some really sweet memories for me. It felt a little like a piece of that overseas life had found its way back to me—this time through my camera.

And this little princess absolutely stole my heart!

She was celebrating her first birthday in a beautiful hanbok (한복), the traditional Korean clothing worn for special occasions. For a baby’s first birthday, the celebration is called dol (돌) or doljanchi (돌잔치), and babies often wear a special dol hanbok.

For girls, the beautiful outfit typically includes a jeogori, the short jacket, paired with a chima, the full skirt.

I love that photography allows me to not only capture beautiful memories, but also continue learning about and celebrating the cultures of the people I have the privilege of photographing.

What a sweet reminder of a chapter of our lives that I will always treasure.
