I took this in 2016 at the world series rally...
The man, the myth the legend. I am saddened by this one. He was a hero, and an idol to me. I wanted to model my game after him. He was the best second baseman I ever saw. He could hit and hit with power and ease. I hate cancer and it takes the best people. He played the game like it should have been played with grace and dignity. Never arguing over a bad call, even when the chips were down he raised his head high. Ryno will forever be missed and loved, not only in Chicago, but all over the baseball world. I got this photo of him in 2016. I got to see him play in person. To a Chicago Cubs icon, and one of the most loved baseball players, we pay our respects tonight.
R.i.p Ryne Sandberg 1959-2025 forever in our hearts, we grieve a legend. May he forever play on our field of dreams in heaven.
