My name is April Henry and I am a photographer located in Spring Grove, PA. I service York County, Adams County and surrounding areas. Growing up, I always had a camera with me, and I had hundreds and hundreds of printed photos in my house and tons of photo albums. As many of you know, I only take on a handful of families each year — and I haven’t even shared any of them yet! I promise I’ll get there soon. ❤️

If you haven’t seen your beautiful family or your gorgeous (or handsome!) senior featured yet, don’t worry — their turn is coming! I still have several sessions to edit, then it’s time for Christmas sessions, and maybe I’ll get a little breather after that.

I captured a few new headshots for the gorgeous Anna!

Anna was the incredible hair and makeup artist I worked with for many of my seniors this year — and she always did such amazing work. 💄

She recently started a new job (congrats, Anna! 🙌), but I’m hoping she can still squeeze in a few hair and makeup sessions here and there for me!

Senior photos for the last Brodbeck boy! 😭 How is that even possible? Time truly flies! I’ve had the pleasure of capturing senior portraits for all three of the Brodbeck boys over the years, and it’s been such an honor to watch them grow. Peek at the throwback photo from 2019.

This year has definitely been full of “last” siblings from families I started photographing years ago — and wow, that hits right in the feels.

I might just go cry now… but hopefully, I’ll get to capture these families again someday.

We captured some awesome baseball photos of Hayden! ⚾️ I’ll let mom or Hayden share more if they choose.

You might notice me sharing fewer photos from each session in the coming months — for a few different reasons (I’ll share more about that later 😉).

Sometimes when I get overwhelmed, I post more pretty photos.

It’s my way of taking a breath — of slowing down for a second and focusing on something that makes me smile.

Lately (or always), my to-do list feels never-ending, and focusing is always tough. But sharing little bits of beauty helps me take a little break and refocus.

Happy Wednesday!

Addy’s senior portraits are giving all the sunshine vibes! ☀️

After a few rainouts this summer, we finally caught the perfect evening for her session. The original night had a 99% chance of rain (and I swear it rained where we were headed — at least that’s what I’m telling myself! 😅). Of course, about an hour after we rescheduled, the percentage dropped and kept going down… typical, right? But it all worked out in the end — her bright colors popped beautifully against the flower fields, making for such a gorgeous and fun session!

Welcome to my photography page! My name is April Henry and I am a photographer based in the York/Hanover, PA area. I have always enjoyed taking photos-like a lot! Growing up, I always had a camera with me and I had hundreds and hundreds of printed photos in my house and tons of photo albums. I never wanted to miss a moment and I still don’t want to miss a single thing. I really became serious with photography when I bought my first “real” camera and had my first child. I realized I wanted to become a photographer a few months after my daughter was born. Why, you might ask...? I didn’t have a single picture of the new little family my husband and I created. Actually, for loving photography as much as I do, I barely had any photos. This is because my daughter was born via emergency C-section and was diagnosed at birth with Down syndrome. Our life was thrown a complete curve ball and the next few days, weeks, and months were a total blur and whirlwind of therapies, appointments, specialists, etc. Every single time I look back at the photos of my daughter’s birth, I am reminded that I have very few. It seriously breaks my heart to pieces. I have since made up for it, but I really wish I had those memories to look back on. This fueled my passion for photography. I realized that life is precious and families need these memories. Photographs are memories that last a lifetime and can be shared with generation after generation. Many times you can find me reminiscing and looking through old photo albums because it is so fun to see how everyone has changed and the people that have come and gone from my life. I am determined to make sure that I will always have photos to look back on for years to come and I am here to make sure that you have those photos to look back on and share with your family in the years to come.
