Some names are more than just names.
Before there was a photography business, there was our son, Jeremiah.
During Jeremiah's time in the NICU, his nurses would sing “Jeremiah was a bullfrog” to him. After we lost him, that little memory stayed with me.
Jeremiah is the reason I became a photographer. The pictures and prints I had of him were all that I had left. When photography became something more, when it became a way for me to create, to remember, and to preserve the memories that are gone too soon, the name Frog Prince Photography was born. It was a way to carry a little piece of Jeremiah into something beautiful.
Through the years, my work has grown and changed. My work has become more intentional, more artistic, and more focused on what I believe portraits are truly meant to become.
It's not about simply creating beautiful photographs.
I want to create heirlooms.
I want your family's portraits hanging on the walls of your home, where your children see them everyday. I want albums that become worn at the edges because they've been opened again and again. I want you to have something tangible to hand to your children someday and for them to be able to hand it to theirs.
Because I know just how precious photographs become when they're all you have left.
And so, it finally feels like the right time for the name of my portrait studio to reflect the artist behind the work and to be something I could pass down to my rainbow babies.
Frog Prince Photography is becoming Crystal Chavez Victor Portraits.
A studio centered around creating meaningful portraiture and tangible artwork meant to live in your home and, one day, become part of your family's story.
I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Frog Prince.
And thankfully, I don't have to.
Frog Prince will continue as the storybook side of Crystal Chavez Victor Portraits. The name that began because of my little boy will continue to live in a part of the studio devoted to childhood, imagination and magic. Where children bake cookies with Santa, snuggle the sweetest bunnies, rescue the world as superheroes, and become mermaids full of wonder.
So this isn't the end of Frog Prince.
It's the next chapter of the story it started.
Welcome to Crystal Chavez Victor Portraits.
Crafted from the beauty of your family.🤍
