Before we had best friends, we had them.

The sisters who stole our clothes. The cousins who whispered secrets under the covers. The aunties and grandmothers who told us the stories that shaped us.

These were our first friendships. The first “I’ve got you” moments. The first safe places to land.

And as the years pass, we become those women for the next generation. We teach, we laugh, we listen, we love—knowing that one day, they’ll do the same.

There are a million tiny moments that make up motherhood—first steps, sleepy snuggles, little hands reaching for yours. And then there are the moments—the ones that shift your heart forever.

This wasn’t just a photo. It was the moment mom knew—her family was finally whole. One of the the first times her daughter met her sibling. The ages of her children, frozen together in time. A chapter of their story, sealed in something tangible.

This is why I do what I do. Yes, everyday moments are precious (pull out your phone and capture them!). But when you want something lasting—something that holds everything—I’m here.

Photography Is So Much More Than a Moment

For me, photography is about more than pressing a button. It’s about documenting existence—preserving the miraculous moments we experience and saying: “This matters.”

I celebrate the creation of life in all its glory and strength. The adaptability of the female body is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Yes, we are beautiful—but what’s truly extraordinary is how our bodies transform with grace and strength to bring new life into the world.

Ashley, the mom here, trusted me to document her pregnancy 11 years ago. That little baby? She’s about to become a teenager.

This is why I do what I do.

If you’ve ever wondered, “Is it worth it to document my pregnancy?”; My answer is always: Yes.

Because time doesn’t stop. It races forward. The only way to truly look back is to pause and say:
"This is me. Right here, right now. I am strong. I am beautiful. I delight in being a woman."

This weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to attend TEDx Warrenton where I got to reconnect at home and listen to some amazing speakers who filled the room with fresh ideas, bold dreams, and genuine passion! Several speakers really stood out but one speaker, in particular, really hit home for me—Monica Kelly, who recently came to me for some headshots & branding images. She’s not only a lively, vibrant speaker but also completely inspirational—sharing her passion for the transformative power of song and singing in our lives. Her talk was a beautiful reminder of how music can uplift, connect, and bring joy to us all.

Watching her captivate the audience reminded me how lucky I am to work with incredible people who make a real impact. Seeing her shine on stage reminded me how amazing it was to be able to capture her energy in portraits.

Before this, I had no idea TEDx was hosted so close, and now I can’t wait to attend the next one. If you haven’t been to a TEDx event, I highly recommend it—it’s a perfect reminder of the power of storytelling and connection.
