Is anyone else grappling with this? I understand the practicality and function of having a niche, but I can no longer subscribe to being Flat Stanley. Things I would tell my younger self. It’s a waste of precious energy to put importance on being “original”. you will rationalize yourself into not making (or sharing)anything at all.

What we perceive as originality is inspiration that’s been individualized (NOT plagiarized- you know better). Everything has creative lineage.

Even David Bowie sponged from the human web of creativity. Collect as much inspiration as you can- that includes making space in your day to download from your own internal muse. She whispers so make sure to take your headphones off
