I love "instant" photographers who buy a camera and instantly become a photographer. Here are some comments from a client who was trying to utilize an "instant" photographer. She had been trying to contact this "instant" photographer for 3 days following the photo session she had paid for. She simply wanted to see the photos of her children. She sent me copies of her request and the reply from the "instant" photographer, who just happens to be a stay at home mom.

Client: "I have been trying to contact you for 3 days. I would appreciate a phone call."
Love this....reply

"INSTANT" Photographer - "Being a stay at home mom is wonderful, but really, does the phone have to ring the same time the baby is crying, the toddlers are fighting, I am changing the 2nd poopy diaper in 10 minutes , the pot on the stove is boiling over, someone is knocking on the door, AND the dog is barking?! I have a life.. I work all day, and come home from work, and I'm tired, then I have to edit the pictures.. I will get to them as soon as I can. I have a life, family and friends. It takes about 6-8 weeks to edit all the pictures I have taken."

What I really love about this is post is this isn't the first such message like this that I have seen posted by "instant" photographers. They believe they become a photographer the second they purchase a new camera. They have no idea of the amount of time and work involved in producing images for customers. Because they believe they have to edit all of the "pictures" (which in their case they do) they under estimate the amount of work required. If they knew what they were doing with their camera in the first place, then they wouldn't have to edit their images before showing the customer.

Had the pleasure of working with Jessie Tennant, PRCA queen for Spokane, last night. Created some great images of this beautiful spokeswoman for rodeo. Will share some images after Jessie has had the chance to view them.

Finished up with the clinic Sunday afternoon. Very pleased with the way the clinic went. Best of all the students were very happy.
