I’m not saying I love grumpy kids …. But actually I do love grumpy kids and their grumpy faces. For real there’s something about kids being unapologetically in tune with how they feel in photoshoots. This is one of my absolute favorite families they always are happy with who their little one is at that very moment in time smiles or not they just want the memories captured! Some sort of kid germs made its way into our home, so we've been having fun with that! But without further ado - here's a triple feature for ya

Day 14, 15, 16 🌼

This shoot was super special with my daughter last spring. I can't wait to recreate it in 2025. It was super simple, a cute dress, the woods covered with yellow wildflowers - she was a true vision! AND we had one of the best times together. I'll post a video in the comments with her cute giggles.

Ok cuties, if you have done a shoot with me, as a couple, particularly - I've likely asked you to look off into the distance together. And it feels weird.... right? BUT look how it turns out. So cute!

Day 12

There’s some sort of peace felt when you’re out on a farm. For kids I find it’s the place that they feel the most comfortable outdoors, their imagination kicks in and they are allowed to be pretty wild out in the wide open space.

I love seeing kids play out on the farm and be able to turn a truly fun memory into a beautiful photograph for the family to keep forever.

Day 11

I’ll never get over how cute little baby noses are with the cutest little peak don’t you just have to resist the urge to ‘boop’ them?

Memory time :
It wasn’t until I pulled out my camera after having my very first child that I realized with the chaos and change happening around me I hadn’t truly taken the time to study every little detail of his sweet face. There was so much to learn about being his Mom, he came one month early; and as many Pinterest and blog posts as I read nothing really helped prepare me for what it would be like to hold your child for the first time and then take them home. A couple days after he was born I pulled out my camera to attempt to take his newborn photos. Something about looking at him behind the lens and in his first photographs really helped it sink in that he was here with me and those images really grounded me. They are some of my favorite photographs to date even without knowing very much about photography at the time - I’ll never forget how it felt to notice every single detail of him and I’m so glad that I get to look back on those photos and feel such fondness - what an important moment in his and my journey on this Earth.
