Fourteen years married to this guy, two kids, a whole lot more wrinkles, and a life I’m pretty damn happy with.
Our wedding cost about $5k. My dress was $300, I picked my own flowers the day before, and we served Two-Buck Chuck and six-packs of b**r from Trader Joe’s. It was simple and so completely us—and still one of the absolute best days.
I think that probably says a lot about what I love about weddings, too. They don’t need to be perfect or elaborate. Give me a good story, a great party, and a day that actually feels like you.
Jude is 7 and Nora is 4, and we’re in such a sweet spot. They play so well together, we can pack up and travel without diapers or pack ’n plays, and life feels a little more free.
It’s also been the most challenging year for Mike and me when it comes to parenting and communication—and somehow the most rewarding, too.
Spokane is our home base, but we travel whenever we can. And after 14 years, I’m just really happy with this little family of mine.
They’re my world. ❤️
