One thing that made Josh and Lindsay’s anniversary so special was that they asked if they could bring their memory box and go through it together. 🥺❤️

Not only was the box beautiful itself but it was filled with everything from the last 10 years together! Movie tickets, ticket stubs, photos, letters they wrote while they did long distance, and more.

I know I sound like a broken record when I say I am so thankful and honored that people trust me enough to invite me into their precious moments together. Hearing all the laughs, the “awe’s”, and the memories each item sparked was just the coolest! Anyway, just reliving this really awesome day with this really rad couple 🥰

When Dustin reached out to me asking if he could schedule a session with me I was like “yes! I’d freaking love that!” And then he said he wanted this to be a session for Robyn’s birthday where it’s all about her and we can capture her beauty and I said “YAS YAS YAS!”

All I’m trying to say is that this was the sweetest session with two humans who love each other deeply. Still shook I got to be apart of this 👏🏻❤️!

Ever since taking a film photography class in photography school I continue to adore black and white photos so much more. I get more feeling, more emotion. With nature photos in black and white, the color of the place seems to be a mystery. Even though you can only see monochrome something in you still connects to the photo. I’m sure you can assume there will be some green trees and beautiful blue water. But who knows. This could’ve been taken in fall when the color palette 🎨 looks a little different. You’ll just have go outside and see for yourself.

- The Get-To-Do List -

Lately I’ve been in a funk. A just an overall funk. You’ve been there too right? No motivation, no desire, no focus...you get the point. But recently something I thought of really helped get my bootay in gear and wow what a difference 👏🏻.

Some time ago I was given some advice. “Try changing how you word things that you do in your day to day life.” The normal sentence here would be “I HAVE to...” “I SHOULD do...” “I NEED to...” while at times those are necessary. But what if you tried saying/thinking “I GET TO...” implying that it’s more of a joy, a pleasure to GET to do these things in your life. Let me give a couple examples:

I get to go to work today
I get to make my husband lunch
I get to drive to the store for that thing I forgot
I get to edit photos and answer emails today

Isn’t that little list starting to sound more like a gratitude list? Because it is! Now I see things as
- I’m thankful to have a job
- Being able to bless my husband by taking something small of his shoulders before work so he can get ready with ease.
- How fortunate I feel to have a car and such easy access to food.
- It such a joy to have my own business that creates memories for others!

Now I recently thought to myself “Why not create a GET TO DO LIST everyday instead of a TO DO LIST”. That has insanely changed my mindset on working from home all the time, from owning my own business, all the way to the day to day monotony of just simply being an adult. I’m starting to go through my day being thankful for the small things I GET to do. While changing the title on your list might seem small or pointless. I’d still love to challenge you to try it out. For me, I’d much rather check things off of a GRATITUDE to-do list than a HAVE to-do list.
