This was the first time we had done a professional photo session together, despite the countless times we've been in front of a camera throughout our 25 (ish) years of friendship, and I just know we're all going to treasure these for years to come.
We grew up together - hiking, having sleepovers, and doing gymnastics. As our lives went on, our paths went a lot of different ways. Different schools, different cities, different interests, but we have always seemed to come back to each other time and time again. Now, our friendship is one of the most important and sacred relationships in my life, and will be, likely forever. There is something so incredibly special and rare to have seen someone grow up alongside you. To have known and loved every version of her, and know that she has known and loved every version of you.
Verena is off to her residency at Dartmouth for the next couple of years, Malia never fails to surprise me with her adventures (if I had a nickel for every time I ask where she is and its LITERALLY across the world!!), and Kayleigh and I are both recently married, growing our careers, and wanting to fill these next months with our partners as much as possible before starting families.
There was a moment over our girls weekend where Malia said "we need to have at least one more get together before you guys have kids", and we all looked at each other realizing that this might be it. Sitting with that feeling was so incredibly bittersweet.
All of this to say, I'm so grateful that we had this little chapter captured. Get the photos - you wont regret it 🤍
