This is a side project I've been trying to get going for years, which will also help me get back to having a dedicated space for working on videos for the Retromantic YouTube Channel. If you're interested in following the progress on Instagram, here's a link to the page.

"Basement Mining Company"

From Instagram: "I don't have my miner's helmet on just yet, but there's lots going on behind the scenes...currently pulling out nearly 50 year old carpet (yes I will slightly miss the 70's design, but it was time) in the basement to replace with some funky retro-inspired tile. From there, the organization starts--to have a dedicated space for me to list vintage items and ship (and make videos again too!) and a separate room for storage of sale items. There is a large open space in the basement too, not shown here, that is chock full of vintage toys, clothes and other items, which I will slowly begin to mine through for selling, making short videos along the way for your viewing pleasure! Thanks for sticking with me!"

What do you think about things like "time slips" or "glitches in the matrix" as they now so often say...

I feel like you don't have to believe these things to find the concept interesting.

Myself (and another inquisitive soul) are currently in the Valdosta area, taking a closer look at this phenomena--and will be out filming, tonight.

If you'd like to know more about the stories from this area, I've left a link in the comments. Or simply Google "Valdosta Time Glitch." (The photo thumbnail included here is not mine)

It's good to be back in action. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I took this photo six years ago today--before I started doing anything on YouTube. Went out "scouting" some local areas for an out of town visitor--with an established channel--to film. His video came and went--now buried under hundreds more. I never did anything with my photos. I returned a few years later and the bunny was gone. He's gone too--infact they all are. I'm glad for those few years, wouldn't change them. I've said that many times. But what I haven't said is that at one point--I suddenly knew I'd lose everyone. A truly gut-wrenching realization, because a couple of them--were everything. Nothing is permanent. No, I'm not done here, but my hiatus has certainly overstayed it's welcome. Unavoidable pitfalls of life took over and I grieve for many things I no longer have. But know also that I want to see what lies ahead.

And I'm sorry for those I hurt.
I'm sorry if you waited for videos.
I'm sorry if you waited for me.

Solo explore in uncharted territory near my place of work. Some difficult terrain before finding this, all incline and prickly bushes. Had to take respite on a mossy log for a bit and must admit it was nice being on my own, taking in my surroundings, even though I was hot and somewhat pricked! Unfortunately I wasn't able to explore the inside of these buildings, they were locked and boarded up, but that's ok, you can't win em' all. That flower decoration with the handwritten "Granny" on it though. Seeing things like that spur mixed emotions in me...sad that something no longer is...but happy that it was. This place was probably a happy home.
