We’re usually pretty good at documenting the obvious things…

birthdays
vacations
first steps
big milestones

But most of what you’ll actually want back one day is quieter than that.

The tiny habits.
The messes.
The way they look at you.
What an ordinary Tuesday felt like.

Those are worth documenting too.

Save this as a reminder next time life feels too uneventful to capture 🩵

I didn’t know if they’d actually be close like this

or if it would take years to get here

but he already includes his baby brother in everything

and honestly… this part gets me every time 🩵

04/27/2026

I almost missed these moments
because I was busy, or tired, or cleaning something up

but this is what I’ll want back one day

not the big things
just this

the way he looks at me
the way he moves
the in-between moments

don’t wait for something ā€œworth filmingā€
this already is 🩵

04/22/2026

I’m so proud of him I could cry 🄺

but… I can feel it already

the part where they stop needing you the same way

someone said having a son is like the longest, slowest goodbye
and I didn’t understand it until this moment 🩵

38 today 🌊✨🄳
This year was loud, fast, tender, and life-changing—in the very best way. I had a baby, moved our whole life, learned how to be a mom to two boys, and somehow landed here in Miami with sand between our toes and so much gratitude in my heart.

I didn’t hit my reading goal (sleep won every time🫠), but I kept my Duolingo streak alive because being the only non-fluent one in Miami will humble you real quick! šŸ˜… I’m lacing my running shoes back up with a half marathon ahead, still showing up daily for my 365 photo project (since 2021!), and learning to hold onto this baby season a little tighter because I truly don’t want it to end. 🄺

This year taught me that my stride is motherhood. I love this life, these boys and this season more than I ever expected (although I could do without the attitude and meltdown that 9 years old brought šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ«£).

Here’s to 38—more present, more patient, healthier, and soaking it all in !šŸ’œ

A little bit of everything lately šŸ«¶šŸ»ā€” from Sully trying on his Sully Halloween costume, to pumpkin patch adventures šŸŽƒ, and soaking up all the sunshine ā˜€ļø (because Miami clearly didn’t get the ā€œit’s fall nowā€ memo šŸ˜…).

Then we took the chaos to sea for our first Halloween on the High Seas Disney cruise! šŸš¢šŸŽƒ It was a first cruise for Sully, first time on the Wish for Casey, and 10/10 would recommend… even with a hurricane route detour šŸŒŖļø and one pirate-worthy black eye šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļø (don’t worry, both mom and baby recovered 😭). It was such a special trip filled with magic, and you’re welcome for our family costumes— especially Casey as Roz! šŸ¤£šŸ‘Œ

We even wrapped it up with a spontaneous Halloween at Disney World because… when living in FL, why not? šŸ°

Now back home and trying to remember what ā€œreal lifeā€ is — and still deciding if I’ll be picking my camera back up for client photos here in Florida or just soaking in this season a bit longer šŸ“øšŸ«¶šŸ»

A smattering of the last month or two…. Yall—Life is still ā€œlifeing,ā€ and I feel like I’m stuck in this weird place where I’m always tired & pouring from an empty cup, but also so fulfilled and grateful all at once.

Truly, it’s crazy being a parent to two very distinctively different ages— the almost tween age and infant are both so hard in such different ways. I’m over here reading parenting books and tips on how to respond when Theo is very clearly acting out because he needs connection and time with me, while singing the wheels on the bus and feeling my heart burst with pride and break at the same time as Sully masters a new milestone.

I tuck each boy into bed and feel my body just sag with exhaustion, wanting nothing more than to sit on the couch with a glass of wine while catching up on my shows with Casey, but also aching with longing to give them just one more snuggle.

This age gap is both hard and beautiful. It’s teaching me patience and perseverance. It’s shown me that I actually *can* survive on little sleep (🤣), and that self care sometimes looks like getting in a 20 min workout during nap time or telling Casey ā€œtag, you’re it!ā€ when I go and take a bath or make a phone call to a friend.

How lucky am I to be living the dream I once hoped and prayed for?! (But also, could it involve just a little less spit up, whining, and more baby giggles, listening ears, and sleep? šŸ™šŸ˜‰)

10/16/2025

It’s pumpkin season and when I heard this audio I KNEW I needed to do this trend with Sully! Unfortunately…. He didn’t love it as much as I had hoped he would. šŸ˜‚

The first time we tried it, he didn’t like the scratchy grass on his toes and kept hiding his foot in the pumpkin. Then a neighbor’s dog got loose and came over and tried to p*e on him (🫣😩) so we called it for the day (I was going to try and include some of that video footage but I’ll spare you the vertigo since Theo was at the helm filming šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«).

The next day he was just plain over it and my pumpkin was deteriorating in this Florida heat, so this is the best we got! We’re big Halloween fans here, so I’m glad to have these memories to look back on each year! šŸŽƒ

Everyone please stop why you’re doing right now and vote for Sullivan in the baby of the year contest! We are currently in 8th place in our group and to move to the next round, we need to be in the top 5! Our family could win 25k if he wins (and right now that would be huge since ya know the govt is shut down and we don’t have paychecks šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«)! It’s easy and free to vote, or you can buy additional votes and the money goes towards baby2baby- an awesome nonprofit that supports those families in need with essential baby items (diaper, formula, etc)! Link in bio/stories and below! Thank you! šŸ«¶šŸ»
