Joetographs Joe's Photography. My name is Joe McClure, and I've lived on Cape Cod for 26 years. I am a Cape Cod photographer.

I tend to work in a lyric documentary form when shooting landscapes or individuals. My idea of a great portrait is taken out in the world that shows the subject in their natural element. The same holds true for architectural and landscape photography. It is about telling a story of what was, but not forgetting *how* it was.

I'm pleased to mention that I have two photos in the Inspired by Cape Cod online Exhibition...to go with the photo that was recently hanging in the gallery. Alas, I have no purple pictures to submit for this month.

People forget that I do portraits of people! I love people! There is nothing more interesting than watching the soul of a person emerge in front of your lens. Sure, headshots are fine, but if you want your senior in high school or your senior citizen to look like them, talk to your photographer, be honest, take risks. You may find the better photo was inside you, not inside the camera.

I met this guy on the waterfront in Plymouth. He was hard to miss — tall, blond, goatee, traveling by bicycle with a pit bull mix who had a huge goofy smile and seemed delighted by absolutely everything.

I asked if I could photograph them, and we got talking. He was riding from New Hampshire to New Jersey, taking whatever route worked. Behind his bike was a flatbed-style trailer carrying his backpack, gear, and, most importantly, a dedicated space for the dog to ride. I don’t know whether he bought it, found it, or built it himself, but it was a pretty great contraption.

At first glance, both of them might have looked a little tough. They were absolute sweethearts.

Then, a little over a year ago, he found me on Instagram and sent me a message to tell me that she had died. I was genuinely sad to hear it. But I was also touched that, after all that time, the encounter and the photograph had meant enough to him that he wanted me to know.

That’s one of the things I love about photographing people. Sometimes you meet someone for only a few minutes, take a picture, and move on. But every once in a while, that small encounter stays with both of you.

This was my first "date" with my them new Instagram friend Adrianne Ferguson. We just fit. I wanted to start off this portrait journey with her photo. There will be more of her. She will be irked, but it will be ok. She knows I have the really good bad photos in the vault. 🤣❤️

P.S., I don't do Noah Kahan, but I know my girl does.

It was a very cool thing to see all of these wonderful images by photographers and their interpretations by other artists in other media including pen and inc as well as carving. Swing by and see my image and the vision Victoria Templeton brought into existence!

The sky was blue that day. It showed the spire as it was meant to be seen: a warning. Still, mankind has ignored the warning over and over. Sarajevo, Ukraine, Gaza...when does mankind figure it out? The photo chooses the photographer sometimes, maybe most times.

The cathedral survived the multi day fire bombing by British and American airplanes. It is said that the destruction of one of Germany’s most beautiful cities was to pay the Germans back for the destruction of London and other cities in England. By this point that, the N**i regime was only months away from completely collapsing.

It was when the fires burned so hot and so strongly that the column inside the church shattered in the 1500⁰ + temperatures, and the structure fell into a pile of jumbled stones. It would lay there fifty years as a reminder of what capitalism and the West had done.

From 1994 - 2005, the Frauenkirche was painstakingly rebuilt. When originally built, many believed it would not stand. Here, it was being built a second time. The dark stones you see are the original stones in their original locations that had been salvaged from the ruins.

For me, this place stands as a monument for what extreme politics can do. At these edges, there is no difference in the perversion of freedom and humanity. The only difference is who is in charge of the capital. When we stop treating all people with humanity, we lose our own.

My first time on the Alex was when I was on a trip during my Junior Year Abroad. It was a barren and cold place. This is not that Alex. This is a vibrant and bustling place.

Spring is starting to feel like spring on . Sometimes have been checking out an empty hive and started cleaning. The box had damage and deemed to be replaced. Hopefully it won't mess them up, but I replaced it with a differently colored box. The inside frames are the same, though. Also, the honey left inside is waiting for them.
