We’re hiring! Camera Assistant & Equipment Manager

Novus Select is looking for a detail-obsessed, technically sharp Camera Assistant & Equipment Manager to join our crew. This a full-time position based in South Lake Tahoe, California.

This position is primarily responsible for serving as a first AC on location with various cinema camera systems (Arri, Red, Sony, Nikon). The position also includes independently overseeing a robust equipment inventory (video, photo, Grip & Electric), device management for commercial products, and handling various day-to-day operations.

This is a full-time, office-based role in beautiful South Lake Tahoe, with ~20% travel for productions throughout the year. Full benefits including healthcare and 401(k), and real work-life balance — plus a dynamic, tight-knit team that collaborates across every part of the production process.

We’re looking for someone who: 🔹 Deep experience with cinema camera systems and video production workflows 🔹 Confident in asset management and data wrangling 🔹Versed in media production software: checksum programs, Adobe Suite, etc. 🔹 Confident with Apple devices – hardware and software 🔹 Solid travel experience with a valid driver’s license and passport

The best rigs always involve equal parts engineering and talking about the best way to do it. The true unsung hero of every production is the PA keeping the coolers stocked. And make no mistake — that PA is being evaluated by the crew. Variety, depth, rotation, and temperature of what is in these coolers is being tracked by everyone. The final creative deliverable actually depends on the quality of the contents of these coolers.

PA’s, take note: If you want a future in this industry, forget film school. Focus on building the best coolers possible.
