Sometimes you donโt realize how far youโve come until you actually look back. ๐ช๐ผ๐ธ
Health and fitness have always been a huge priority for me, but as Iโve gotten older, my body definitely doesnโt play by the same rules it used to. ๐
Iโve had multiple surgeries, a hysterectomy and plenty of ongoing back issues. I could have decided that this was just how my body was going to be and thrown in the towel.
But if you know me, you know thatโs not really how I roll.
Over the past year, Iโve been working toward one BIG goal: a handstand press. Will I get there? I sure as hell hope so because this sucker is HARD. ๐
The first video was taken back in April. The second was this weekend.
And when I put them side by side, I kind of shocked myself.
There wasnโt one giant moment that got me here. It was getting up every morning, drinking my water, eating healthy, getting enough protein and fiber, taking my creatine and getting my butt to the gym about five mornings a week.
Just consistency.
And maybe thatโs one of the reasons I love photography so much.
Weโre living our lives every single day and sometimes we donโt notice the changes happening right in front of us. Then you put two photographs or videos side by side and suddenly you can SEE the story between them.
All those ordinary days in between mattered.
April โก๏ธ August.
Iโm still not at that handstand press yet, but DAMN, Iโm getting closer. ๐๐ผ
So take the pictures. Take the videos. Document where you are right now, even if youโre not where you want to be yet.
Because someday you might look back and realize just how freaking far youโve come. โค๏ธ
