As the sun began to set, he got down on one knee and asked Malia to spend forever with him. The look of complete surprise, the happy tears, and the overwhelming joy that followed are exactly why I love what I do.

There is something incredibly special about preserving moments that can never be recreated. Years from now, they’ll be able to look back and relive every emotion from the beginning of their next chapter.

After spending the day hiking through the hottest place on Earth in June, we found ourselves watching the sun slip behind the mountains over Death Valley. For a few quiet moments, it was just us, before the schedules, the responsibilities, and all the beautiful chaos that came with becoming parents.

Sure, the walk down the aisle is beautiful. The vows, the shoes, the flowers, the “I do’s”, all of it deserves its moment.

But nobody talks enough about the after party.

The hugs that turn into dance circles, the grandparents on the dance floor, the friends singing every word, and the kind of laughter that makes your cheeks hurt.

The truth is, unlike many photographers, this isn't my full-time job. That means I don't have to constantly increase my rates to keep up with overhead and business expenses. For me, it's always been more about serving couples, capturing memories, and delivering an amazing experience than chasing bigger profits.
