Dear Class of 2021: You began your high school years as a huge fire closed schools and evacuations became mandatory. Your friends lost everything. You stepped up to help create fun spaces in local evacuation shelters for kids who lost their safety, never questioning your own. Your years of high school were followed by more fires, more evacuations, power outages...you endured. When the country needed the voice of our youth, you answered the call. You marched and protested peacefully down Broadway, being a strength for the weak and a force for the minority. You created safe places for the 🏳️🌈 community. And then, despite all your valiant efforts, you lost your senior year to a pandemic. Yet, you stood up and, again, answered the call. You quarantined, you sheltered in place, you gave up your athletics and academics, all while our state opened up to tourists, you stood by patiently waiting for your turn. I couldn’t be more proud or more honored to capture some of the normalcy this year brought — senior portraits, senior prom put on by the moms, cap and gown photos. It’s an honor and a privilege to have met so many of you. You give me so much hope for the future of my children. Thank you for inspiring me daily! The world needs more humans like you! xoxo
p.s. Secret’s out: I bring sparkling apple cider and confetti poppers to my senior sessions. Not sad about it. (I also offer complimentary Cap&Gown photos to all my families who book family/senior sessions ❤️)
