Being registered with The Tilly Project allows for me to capture the end of life moments with our extended (usually) four legged family. This little drifter, Bernie, has a date on Wednesday to cross the rainbow bridge. As hard as these photo shoots are knowing what happens next, it’s an honor to be a part of that transition for the whole family.

Bernie is so cool, he is confident, silly, loving and gruff. He’s 7 and has a sarcoma under his arm. Though he has some trouble, he is certainly a trooper. He got to spend his time with his dog dad, Ryan and dog Aunt, Lauren, being held, eating snacks and getting all of the love and attention all while basking in the sunshine. It was perfect.

Bernie found Ryan when he was a puppy, running the streets as a vagabond. Though their family had other doggos, Bernie fit right in and he and Ryan became best buddies, instantly. It was a joy to meet him and get to know his silly little self. I’ll be thinking of him this next week and hoping his transition is smooth and I know he will be surrounded by everything and everyone he loves. 🥹🥹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
